About this event

Urban Birding: A Bird Watching Tour

Join us every other 4th Sunday of the month for a bird watching tour. You'll get an introduction to birding, learn about the local and migratory birds, get info on current restoration projects, and help collect data.

During spring and early summer, we will walk the Olympia Port Peninsula starting from the Estuarium and making a loop. We will be stopping at different areas to observe birding behaviors and discuss the impacts humans have on waterfront property and local bird habitats.

During late summer and early fall, we will start from the Estuarium heading to Capitol Lake and West Bay before looping back. We will be stopping along the way to observe how birds have adapted to live in urban areas and talk about how Olympia’s estuaries have changed and the effect it has had on bird populations.
